If you have filed a claim for whiplash compensation, the solicitor who is handling your case will deal with everything. Aside from handing over important information and necessary documents, you will not be required to have nothing to do with the claims process and can focus on recovering from your injury whilst your claim for compensation is processed.
A whiplash claim where liability is admitted and the value is not contested will usually be settled within 2 – 8 months, while a whiplash claim where liability is not accepted or the value is contested will usually be settled within 4 – 12 months. The claims process is rather complicated, however as long as the correct industry procedures are followed you should receive your payout in a respectable time frame and a time frame that’s convenient for you.
How can I fast track my whiplash claim?
This is a great question, so we’ll try to answer it as plainly and as simply as possible:
Whiplash claims are usually allocated to the fast track. The fast track is the track that a claim is allocated to if the whiplash claims average payout is assessed to be between £1,000.00 up to £25,000.00.
These types of claim given the lesser value are usually processed faster than those that are allocated to the multi-track which are claims valued at over £25,000.00, but this is usually in respect of a court timetable.
With road traffic accident claims and whiplash claims, the cases are submitted on an electronic claims portal which is intended to speed up the claims. As the matter is dealt with electronically, the claim will only proceed out of the portal if there is an issue with regard to liability or the value of the claim exceeds £25,000.
So if you are the victim of whiplash and wish to fast track your claim, the truth is that as long as your claim is assessed to be between £1,000.00 up to £25,000.00, it will usually be allocated to the fast track and it is on this track that claims are usually processed the fastest.
Is there any way to make the claim process faster?
